30 Days of SPN - Day 12

Finally! Super-happy-fun timez!

Day 12 - Your favourite funny scene
... And once again, well-nigh impossible to choose between. So, I’m going to stick with a classic one: Sam and Dean telling Bobby their “tall tales”. If for no other reason than Sam’s truly epic bitch!face in Dean’s version of what happened at the college bar. I can never watch “Dean, what do you think you’re doing?... Dean, this is a very serious investigation. We don’t have time for any of your blah-blah blah-blah. Blah-blah blah-blah. Blah blah-blah blah-blah.... Blah, blahblablablablablah.... Bla-ah –” ... without unseemly amounts of snerking and giggling.

“My God, you – are attractive.”
“Thanks. But no time for that now. You need to tell me about this urban legend. Please – lives are at stake.”
“I’m sorry, it’s ... I can’t even concentrate. It’s like staring ... into the sun....”

Plus, purple nurples. And Starla. (Good news – she’s got a sister. :D)

And then their expressions at the slow dancing alien and their joint flat denial that they were exaggerating. Of course, that’s probably moving beyond one scene – except that technically the scene hasn’t changed from them catching Bobby up in their (maid service-less) hotel room. Which opens up the whole “brave little soldier” whose pain Sam acknowledges. Hee!

I know that these are their usual aggravations with one another, turned up to 11 by the Trickster’s influence, and they don’t really really mean it. I know this is early days and part of the beauty is how they grow and change and see beyond the superficial and customary in each other. But this is family. You love each other beyond reason and the tiniest issues are the most annoying things in the world ... which you will verbally eviscerate anyone else for daring to criticize. This is family at its ridiculous best.

And Honourable Mention has to go to teddy bear doctors, though. (Really, Honourable Mentions need to go to a great many scenes, but, again....) Sam’s face when he waves his “teddy bear doctor” badge at Audrey (omg, Audrey, so cute! and not evil!), weirdness so weird it even ticks over the Winchesters’ weirdometres, their timing and expressions throughout trying to figure out what the hell to do with a live, man-sized, suicidal teddy bear.... I stand in awe, gentlemen (including Edlund).

I love the teddy bear doctor scenes. All of that was just perfect. Audrey was super adorable. Especially when she informs Teddy what he's there for 'TEA PARTIES!'

Makes me laugh every time.

Just when you think they can't do anything more ridiculous and yet plausible in the construct of their show, they pull out Wishful Thinking or Changing Channels or something. And the whole crew gets it pitch-perfect. Such a delight.

♥ Audrey. With her little patched up bear and sunburned parents at the end.... D'awwww....
