30 Days of SPN - Day 15

At least this is a pretty short list to choose from.

Day 15 - A scene that makes you angry
I don’t get angry that much or that easily. The way the angels misrepresented God to further their own ends, by warping Sam and Dean, makes me angry, but that’s not something I can nail down to a single scene. For the most part characters act the way I expect them to act, according to who they are, and since it’s usually thwarted expectations that makes you particularly angry, I’m fairly even tempered when I watch shows. Even this one.

Although, come to think of it, something that shocked me and made me angry was in Free to Be, when those hunters tried to force demon blood on Sam. I was so unbelievably proud of Sam in that moment, when he spat it out again – the strength he demonstrated there is the strength he’s had all along, which had been attacked and undermined and twisted ... which he needed to reclaim as his own, as his responsibility to exercise as he chose. Which he did, and then some.

I don’t know why that particular attack on Sam made me so angry, when others didn’t as much. Maybe because of how much he’d already struggled with it, how hard he was trying to overcome it. How vulnerable he was in it. In any case, I will admit to having a bit of a mama bear moment watching them do that to Sam. I don’t often get that caught up in the story, but I was quite ready to bust some heads at that point. And yeah, yeah, the hunters who did it just lost a friend, and they think Sam’s a monster or some stupid piece of reasoning there, and all that stuff. I try to look at things from all sides most of the time, but in this particular case I just don’t give a crap. You come after Sammy’s weak spot like that again, I will end you. That’s it. End of discussion.

... Huh. I guess that scene really did get me angry. O.O

RARR! FeaR the Fangirl!!!

(I do fear the fangirls, actually.)

I wonder if Dean not being there had anything to do with it. Like, we have a Pavlovian expectation of automatic rage when Sammy's threatened, and so fill it in ourselves if it doesn't happen onscreen.

I think I just creeped myself out.

Oh no, that's totally true. We do the same thing for Dean when Sam's not around, you know, insist that he take care of himself, dammit, etc. ;)
