randomly perfect meme

Okay, FYI, memes? This is how you do it. Enough with zomg favouritist/least favouritist evaaar!!!11!!!1!!!!!1!

Nicked from lmx_v3point3, who seems to be making a habit of infecting me with the memes she chooses to do. Because they are AWESOME.

The steady:
Supernatural. I fell once and I fell hard. I honestly don't think that's happening again.

The old flame you don’t see very often any more but whom you still really enjoy getting together with for a few drinks and maybe a pleasant nostalgic romp in the sheets:
Deadwood. And ... that's not a "romp", and it's not "pleasant". It IS nostalgic, though.
Black Books. More drinking than anything else, I think....
And Leverage may be inching in this direction. The sparkle is ... I dunno, dimming, somehow. We'll see what season 4 brings.

The one who seduced you and fucked you over and broke your heart in a million pieces and laughed about it:
Battlestar Galactica. I was hesitant and then it was all interesting and then it was ridiculous but still strangely compelling and then I got fed up with the run-around and I quit it and never looked back until just recently and I watched the last season and *POOF*?!?!?!?!?! RDM, you utter, utter, utter BASTARD. Has led to fic impulses which I am trying to keep under control.

The mysterious dark gothy one whom you used to sit up with talking until 3 a.m. at weird coffee houses and with whom you were quite smitten until you realized he really was fucking crazy:
Angel. I was young and immature. And what the hell was up with season 4? Make a series about Lindsey and Cordy. I think it honestly started out cool – season 1 – and then it turned all poncey. Even de-Buffyed Spike and season 5 didn't really rescue it, although at least it made it interesting to watch again ... kinda.

The one you spent a whole weekend in bed with and who drank up all your liquor, and whom you’d still really like to fuck again although you’re relieved he doesn’t actually live in town:
Spaced. During finals week, no less. That was one hell of a fling. Worth every second, too.
And ... yeah, Gilmore Girls. I had literally almost nothing to do one Christmas break, and a friend lent me the dvds. I don't think I saw the sun. I also ended up booting it out of bed, before it was finished no less. And no, it's not invited back.

The alluring stranger whom you’ve flirted with at parties but have never gotten really serious with:
White Collar. Brilliant chemistry when we're together, but I realised I don't give it a thought when we're not.
Whose Line is it Anyway? Fun while it lasts, but too grating and same-same for anything more. Yay for youtubers!

The one you hang out with and have vague fantasies about maybe having a thing with but ultimately you’re just good buddies ‘cause the friendship is there but the chemistry ain’t:
Hustle. I keep forgetting about it, but it is cool.

The one your friends keep introducing you to and who seems like a hell of a cool guy except it’s never really gone anywhere:
Hornblower. It's all very cool and nautical and I like it and all, but ... eh.
Justified. There's promise there. I'm still waiting. Season 2 is the make-or-break stage for this relationship, I'm thinking.
Sons of Anarchy. Maybe maybe one day....

The one who’s slept with all your friends, and you keep looking at him and thinking, “Him? How the hell did he land all these cool babes?”:
Lost. Zomg, Lost. What are all you people doing?

The one your friend has fallen for like a ton of bricks and whom she keeps babbling to you about on the phone for hours, and you’d be happy for her except you just know it’s going to end badly:
Heroes. I always knew this was going to be a mess, and I tuned in occasionally, but my friends really have no one to blame but themselves.
24. Not so much end badly as ... one day they'll look around and ask themselves what was the point?

The ones you repeatedly cheat on your steady with:
Show is Show. I'm not going anywhere. Plus it doesn't care who I flirt with, it knows where my heart lies.
Okay, I guess Top Gear has a little permanent corner in my heart too, but it's an occasional thing. I'll binge and then forget about it for a while.

The one who gave you the best damned summer of your life and who you measure all other potential partners against:
Firefly. Real quality and Whedon didn't have time to screw it up, and Serenity was a great way to end it. But that's only because Firefly was before I realised what true love was and it's not fair to measure anything against Show. It just doesn't work.

You are right, this is an amazing meme. Too bad I don't watch any other shows besides Supernatural...Seriously. One hour per week.

LOL, this. I mean, I have a few others from my past, but nothing current. Hmmm. (I want to do the meme anyway, lol)

This icon is actually quite terrifying. :|

I know exactly what you mean about BSG. It was like they knew where they wanted to go, and how much time they had, but not enough material to fill the gap - hence all the fluffy stuff in the middle (fluffy in the unfocused sense, rather than the fandom sense).

On Firefly: "Whedon didn't have time to screw it up" - I am sadly coming around to this line of thinking. His short stuff and the stuff made on a shoestring or a time limit always seem to be many times better than his long dedicated runs. Buffy's last season was... well, I've never watched the whole thing.

Oh, sorry. It's kind of my favourite at the moment. I didn't actually realise I'd given it to you twice! Looking at the list up there, Mark Sheppard is represented far beyond anyone else. I'd say Romo Lampkin was one of my favourites, but then there's Badger ... and Crowley ... and Sterling.... Nope, can't choose. :( Anyway, sorry. This one better?

I haven't made up my mind about BSG yet, about exactly what went wrong. I'm currently slowly going through it again. Skipping the Baltar/Six stuff, because that manipulative pseudo-philosophical drivel was annoying enough the first time around, even before they made it all nonsensical and meaningless with the last season. :\

Yeah, I think Whedon's problem may ultimately be not being able to recognise the limits of his metaphors, and pushing them until they just fall apart. Still – we'll always have Firefly!

Hehe, drop me your email addy when you get a min, sweets.

That's some discipline right there! I'd say I average around 3-4 hours per week.

So did you watch anything before SPN much, or is this your OTF (one true fandom)?

I was a fan of the original Trek (my love for that led me to my best grammar school friend who eventually introduced me to my husband), and Next Gen and DS9. And I watched Voyager and Enterprise, not necessarily nuts about them, though. But I didn't know about fandom then.

I've watched Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Stargate, and Stargate Atlantis on DVDs, but one time through them was enough.

Nope, only this show has made me obsessed.

Ah, of course, I should have remembered Trek.

And I think these days, one time through those you listed would do me. Teens have obsession wired in, I guess. :)

Lol, I just did this too, because - awesome! DANG I HAVE HAD A BUNCH OF BOYFRIENDS! D:
